A natural energy healing system

The Reiki system of natural healing evolved from Japan and was devised by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. The tradition involves energy healing and has a beautiful lineage which is passed on from master to student and is a tradition that is open to any belief system.

We live in a world of energy that nourishes and maintains all living things. When this energy flows uninterrupted there is balance and harmony within and around us and we experience a sense of well being. In essence Reiki works at bringing us into balance and is believed therefore to reinforce the body’s natural ability to heal itself at all levels, whether physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is simple. The recipient remains clothed and lies on a couch or sits on a chair and relaxes.

Reiki involves the “laying on of hands”, the practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body and the universal energy is directed from the palms of their hands to the patient and on to any area of the body or energy centre that needs clearing or support. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms.

If your  life force energy is low then you are more likely to get sick or feel stressed, and if it is high you feel more alive and happy.

Reiki is a natural healing energy that works on every level, not just the physical, and is understood to promote the body’s regenerative self- healing.

Reiki is a healing process that both humans and animals can benefit from. It should not, however, be regarded as a cure for conditions. As a natural form of healing Reiki can support and enhance other forms of treatment.

Clients may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki treatment. Benefits reported by clients include deep relaxation promoting a calm, peaceful sense of wellbeing on all levels, not only from a healing perspective, but also as an aid to personal development and spiritual growth.
